Several members from the police and prisons civil rights union (POPCRU) are staging a protest at the Correctional Services head offices in pretoria

The group are aggrieved over what they call serious operational challenges linked to irregular and unfair shift allocatons that have been left unaddressed for a long time

They demand direct ministrial intervention from the minister of of correctional services, Dr Pieter Groenewald
