Remembering SA jazz legend Abdullah Ibrahim

The late great musician Abdullah Ibrahim gave a concert in New York City in April 2017 to mark South Africa's Freedom Day. The event titled "The Jazz Epistles":was organized to celebrate not only the country's democracy but South African jazz in general. SABC News U.S. correspondent Sherwin Bryce-Pease got the rare opportunity to talk to Ibrahim as he reflected on his early days in music and how uncertain times shaped his legendary music status as a jazz composer and musician of international repute.
