Vice President of India Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan visited Liddlesdale Estate in Ragala, Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka on the second day of his two-day official visit. He inspected houses constructed under the Indian Housing Project (Phase III) and interacted with the beneficiaries, who are members of the Indian-origin Tamil community. The Vice President expressed happiness at meeting the families and reiterated India's commitment to the welfare of Tamil people in Sri Lanka. India has provided assistance for 50,000 houses to Tamil families in the Northern, Eastern, and plantation regions. This visit highlights the strong bilateral relations and Neighbourhood First policy between India and Sri Lanka. The Vice President concluded his visit after productive discussions in Colombo.
