Ukraine and Moldova are one step closer to joining the European family: senior EU officials have opened the first cluster of membership negotiations. This symbolic moment marks a significant turning point for countries that were once part of the Soviet Union and represents a major improvement to the EU’s security and defense policy.

- RUSSIA HITS UNESCO-LISTED SITE IN KYIV
Another brutal attack orchestrated by Russia brought bouts of terror to Kyiv, as the city’s Pechersk Lavra, one of the most important religious and historic symbols of Ukraine, suffered heavy damage. At least five people were killed and dozens wounded, with Russia serving as a shining example of barbarity in action by targeting civilians and cultural sites.

- U.S. & IRAN EXTEND CEASEFIRE
Another step towards a potential breakthrough between the U.S. and Iran: the two nations struck a deal extending the 60-day ceasefire for the duration of final negotiations. Whether or not the deal set to be signed on Friday will bear fruit is yet to be seen. However, markets have already begun embracing the announcement of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
