#European leaders issue joint statement on U.S.–Iran agreement to end #Gulf War

France, Germany, Italy and the U.K. have issued a joint statement welcoming the agreement between Washington and Tehran to end the war in the Gulf. They called for the urgent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and said Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. The leaders also said they stand ready to work with the U.S., Iran and the IAEA, and to lift sanctions in response to verifiable steps toward dismantling Iran’s nuclear program.
