* U.S. and Iranian officials have reportedly agreed on a framework to end months of war, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and lift the U.S. blockade on Iran.

* The case against alleged underworld kingpin Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala - together with his four co-accused - is expected to resume at the High Court in Johannesburg. He is accused of orchestrating the failed assassinations of his former girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane, businessman Joe Sibanyoni, and music producer Seunkie Mokubung, popularly known as DJ Vettys.

* Northern Cape Premier Dr. Zamani Saul, and Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General, Koliswa Otola lead the province's safety and security cluster in hosting a media conferences for the quarterly crime statistics announcement. During the third quarter, the province recorded slight increases in murder and attempted murder, while the rest of South Africa saw an overall national decrease in murders by 8.7%.

* Gerda Steyn did it again, this time in the 99th edition of the Comrades marathon, crossing the finish line in 5 hours, 44 minutes and 53 seconds, setting a new Up Run record and securing her fifth consecutive title.
