As South Africa marks 50 years since the June 16 uprising, we're invited to look beyond remembrance and ask deeper questions about the role of universities during moments of national upheaval. Wits University is revisiting its own history … the students, staff and institutions that responded to a generation demanding change. Joining us is Professor Yunus Ballim, a distinguished academic and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Wits, to reflect on higher education's place then, and its responsibilities now.
