Deputy President Paul Mashatile has paid tribute to King Makhosoke II, describing him as a transformative monarch who dedicated his reign to improving the lives of his people. Speaking at the King's funeral in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, Mashatile said the late monarch prioritised education and healthcare, while championing initiatives aimed at empowering communities economically. He said King Makhosoke II ensured that his people were not only educated, but also equipped with opportunities to improve their livelihoods. He added that the King advanced several programmes focused on health, community development, and social upliftment. King Makhosoke II passed away on 9 June at the age of 65, after a 40-year reign. He was laid to rest today, with mourners remembering him as a respected leader who served his people with dedication and vision.
