Sudan war enters new phase: Who controls what after four years

The war in Sudan has entered a new phase in its fourth year, marked by shifting territorial control, increased drone warfare and expanding battlefronts.
The Sudanese army controls the north, centre and east, including the capital Khartoum and Red Sea ports, whilst the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) holds most of Darfur and has expanded into resource-rich Kordofan.
The UN says drone strikes killed at least 880 civilians between January and April, as attacks increasingly target critical infrastructure.
Nearly 14 million people have been displaced, with tens of millions facing hunger in what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
