Family distraught after their daughter drowned in a pit latrine

The death of a 1-year-old girl has left the Yena family distraught after she drowned in a pit latrine at a local creche in Sidwadweni village outside Tsolo in the Eastern Cape.

The toddler was allegedly seen by a three-year-old child walking towards an open pit latrine.

The Yena family spokesperson, Yonela Gwana says teachers found the toddler floating in the toilet.
