FILM | Turfloop resistance brought to life in new film

Multi-award-winning director Tebogo Malope is returning to his roots with a compelling new feature film, "Studying under the Barrel of a Gun".

The film tells the story of the courageous student resistance movement, who stood against oppression in pursuit of justice, dignity and freedom during the 12th of June 1986, at the University of the North (Turfloop).

The movie marks the 40th anniversary of the University of Turfloop occupation, a defining moment in South Africa's struggle for liberation.
