Contestants faced off at the annual European Championship of Gull Screeching at the weekend, bringing together more than 70 participants seeking to produce the best imitation of the seabird's distinctive shriek.

Competitors from 15 countries took part in the sixth edition of the event, with no cash prizes on offer, just glory.
