EAM Jaishankar’s Sharp Reply on Russian Oil #geopolitics #energysecurity

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar participated in a panel discussion at Kultaranta Talks on “Emerging Powers and the New Geopolitical Competition” alongside Finland FM Elina Valtonen and UAE Assistant FM Lana Nusseibeh.

Responding to a discussion on energy and geopolitics, EAM Jaishankar said India purchased oil based on “cost and availability,” noting that European demand for Middle Eastern oil altered traditional supply patterns.

He further remarked: “No European country has been attacked with Indian weapons. I wish I could say that for European weapons vis-a-vis India. So keep that in mind…”
