Embu local drowns in a swamp

A sombre mood engulfed Dallas Estate in Embu Town following the recovery ofthe body of Evans Karuiki, a local who had drowned in a swamp within the estate.

RUN VCR;;; Confirming the incident, Embu Municipality East Assistant Chief Catherine Wanja warned residents not to underestimate the swamp’s depth, further cautioning them against swimming in the water body. Residents have also renewed calls for urgent intervention by the county government to secure the swamp and prevent further loss of life.
