Aboutrika says World Cup is being used to ‘whitewash’ reputations

Former Egypt footballer Mohamed Aboutrika criticised FIFA and World Cup organisers, saying the tournament’s problems have already begun. He accused the United States, one of the tournament’s co-hosts, of using football to whitewash its reputation over Gaza and the war with Iran.
