World Cup mural scores big with art lovers, sports fans

Vancouver residents are reacting after artist and devoted sports fan Seth Book, a.k.a. 800K, transformed a city block into a vibrant community hub for FIFA World Cup 26.

Created in collaboration with the Yaletown Business Improvement Association, the project at Helmcken Plaza features seven hand-painted surfaces, including six sidewalls and an entire street block, to create a lively atmosphere for fans beyond the games.

With the piece finished, locals and tourists are interacting with the artwork and enjoying the space, offering Book a chance to reflect on what he has learned.
