An industrial tank leak at a factory in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia sent a cloud of orange fumes into the air on Thursday morning (Jun 11). No casualties from the leak were reported.
Local media reported that the 200-litre tank contained spent inorganic acid — a hazardous waste material derived from strong acids, which can cause severe chemical burns and respiratory irritation.
Officials say the situation was brought under control by 12.45pm, and that the chemical was contained by the factory's scrubber system, which captures and neutralises hazardous fumes. #malaysia #malaysianews
