FICCI Hails PM Modi’s Historic Achievement

Today marks a historic milestone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi
has become India's longest serving elected Prime Minister, completing 4,399 days of governance that define by reform, scale and execution. At FICCI we have witnessed this transformation very closely from Make In India to Start Up India to Digital India to GST, financial inclusion, manufacturing and renesa. I mean many several transformational reforms. These were not just the policy announcements that were made, there were structural shifts that reshaped the India economic architecture. The numbers speak for all of it, because defence exports if you see have really gone up from 700 crore to 38, 424 crores. Start-up if you see from a handful to about 1.4 lakh registered entities. India today is the world's third largest start up ecosystem and one of the fast growing major economies. But, perhaps the most defining achievement in this is: that development has reached the last mile. Being a women I would also like to call out the call for action on women led development by Prime Minister which is a transformational idea and this will in our view become a key pillar of Viksit Bharat, as India marches towards the Viksit Bharat goal of 2047, this milestone is not just the reflection of the past its the foundation for what lies ahead: Jyoti Vij, Director General, FICCI.
