Car, LPG gas tanker collision leaves one dead

Efforts continue to prevent an LPG gas tanker from exploding following a collision with a light motor vehicle on the N12 between the R59 and Comaro Road off-ramp in southern Johannesburg.

One person has been confirmed dead after the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. The deceased was travelling in the light motor vehicle, while the truck driver escaped uninjured.

The collision has resulted in a complete shutdown of the highway in both directions.
