A Budget provision of ₹30,000 crore was made for MGNREGA. As consultations on the draft and finalisation of rules are still underway, the Government has proposed an interim allocation to ensure uninterrupted employment for workers and the continued progress of rural development works. Following consultations with States and Union Territories, an interim allocation of ₹95,692 crore has been proposed as the Centre’s share. State-wise allocations have also been finalised to ensure that no region faces any reduction in support during the transition period: Union Minister shivraj singh chauhan
