A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater rescued a man and his dog from a disabled sailing vessel that was taking on water approximately 25 miles off the coast of Sanibel Island, Florida.
The 36-foot sailboat was in distress when the Coast Guard responded, executing an aerial rescue operation to safely hoist both the man and his dog from the vessel. Both were reported to be in good condition following the rescue.
They were transported to Southwest Florida International Airport, where emergency services were waiting to assist.
This dramatic footage highlights the speed, precision, and dedication of Coast Guard rescue teams during life-threatening situations at sea.
