A major boost to India's aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

The first ‘Made in India’ Airbus C295 military transport aircraft has successfully completed its maiden test flight from the Final Assembly Line in Vadodara, marking a significant milestone under the Make in India initiative.

As the first of 40 C295 aircraft to be manufactured in India, this achievement reflects the growing strength of indigenous defence production and public-private collaboration. The programme brings together Airbus, Tata Advanced Systems Limited and a wide network of Indian MSMEs, paving the way for a self-reliant aerospace ecosystem.

The first India-made C295 is set to be delivered to the Indian Air Force later this year.
