Fraught cohabitation undercuts Poland’s international credibility | News in Depth

"The spat over historical policy continues to cause a rift between Warsaw and Kyiv. Travelling to London for a meeting with leaders of U.K., France, and Germany, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy opted to fly from Moldova, as opposed to his usual route, which takes him through Poland. Is this, as much as the fact that Poland was not invited to the talks, a signal that the Polish-Ukrainian disagreement is harming Poland’s standing internationally?

TVP World’s Editor-in-Chief, Michał Broniatowski, does not think so.

“It’s a situation which was caused by (...) quarrels between (Poland’s) president (Nawrocki) and prime minister (Tusk), which (...) results in the West being a bit bewildered and not sure what is, in fact, Poland’s foreign policy,” said Broniatowski. “And this is harming Poland’s interests in the West and showing that Poland is not a serious and reliable partner.”
