Powerful twin earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela on Wednesday (Jun 24), causing buildings to collapse and forcing the closure of the country's main airport. At least 32 people have been killed and more than 700 others injured, with the death toll expected to rise.
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez has declared a state of emergency, while search and rescue operations continue as emergency crews search for survivors trapped beneath the rubble.
