SATAWU and UNTU accuse PRASA of acting in bad faith - Atenkosi Plaatjie

Labor unions at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa have tabled a demand for a 15% across-the-board salary increase. However, the first round of talks hit a snag when PRASA failed to provide a counter-offer, instead requesting a three-week postponement to consult with executive management.

Labour unions SATAWU and UNTU are now accusing the rail agency of acting in bad faith.

Talks were meant to begin last October. On top of the wage hike, workers are demanding non-financial benefits and a strict no-retrenchment clause.
