Singapore's Circle Line expands with 3 new MRT stations opening in July

Singapore's Circle Line is set to expand with the opening of its last three MRT stations — Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward Road — on July 12. Commuters can enjoy a free public preview on 4 July from 9.30am to 9pm. The new stations offer more direct connections to the Central Business District and HarbourFront, with travel times improving significantly. For example, a trip from Telok Blangah to Marina Bay will take about 10 minutes less and can be completed on a single train ride.

Tunneling works began in August 2019, and the line is currently undergoing final systems testing. With these additions, the Circle Line will expand to 33 stations, supported by new trains for increased capacity. The completed line connects to all existing rail lines via 12 interchange stations, offering alternative routes that bypass the busy City Hall and Raffles Place interchanges.
