US-Iran conflict: UAE says Iranian missiles hit tankers; one Indian seafarer dead

An interim truce is under what could be the most pressure since its signing last month, as the US and Iran deepen their dispute over who should control the Strait of Hormuz. Washington is to reinstate a blockade on Iranian shipping on Jul 15 morning. US President Donald Trump has slapped a 20 per cent toll on any party choosing to send cargo through the waterway, saying it is only fair given that the US is doing duty as the self-appointed "guardian" of Hormuz. Meanwhile, one Indian seafarer has died, after two Emirati-linked tankers were attacked during passage off the coast of Oman. Iran's Revolutionary Guards accused them of ignoring repeated warnings.
