The head of South Africa's newly established anti-corruption oversight mechanism says the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) is stronger than any individual and will continue to fulfil its mandate despite challenges.
Speaking during a media briefing, IDAC Oversight Judge, retired Judge Takalani Raulinga stressed that no single person has the power to undermine or collapse an institution tasked with combating corruption and safeguarding accountability.
Raulinga says established legal and governance processes are in place to address any difficulties facing the directorate, he emphasised that individuals should never be allowed to weaken bodies responsible for upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability in public life.
