Mbalula says ANC will not allow councillor candidates without matric

ANC SG Fikile Mbalula has outlined that the party's guidelines stipulate that only incumbent councillors without matric can apply for a waiver with the electoral committee.

Some provincial secretaries have written letters to the party, seeking a waiver for some new prospective councillors without matric.

The party is holding a special extended NEC Meeting to finalize the party's candidates for the upcoming local government elections.
