* The highly-anticipated testimony of IDAC Head, Advocate Andrea Johnson before the Madlanga Commission has been briefly halted.
This after Johnson was rushed to hospital this morning on the way to the venue.

* Alleged crime kingpin Vusimusi "Cat" Matlala's plea deal has collapsed. This after Matlala rejected the specialised commercial crimes court's proposal of 12 years direct imprisonment. Matlala had initially agreed to be jailed for 8 years, but the court found that to be too lenient.

* The National Prosecuting Authority in the Western Cape says it is unclear at this stage whether the family of the late rapper, Kiernan "AKA" Forbes will be appointing a legal team to represent them during the inquest into the death of Anele Tembe. The inquest was due to have started this morning, but has been postponed to the 7th of September.

* Oil prices rise and global stocks fall, following fresh attacks betweeen the US and Iran and conflicting claims about the Strait of Hormuz being closed.
