Beginners and seasoned skaters say Kimberley Diamond Skateboarding competition, Diamond and Dorings, continues to drive youth development and skateboarding as a professional sport.
The competition has officially launched the highly anticipated 2026 KDC season, featuring a six-stop national Grand Slam Series and a season-ending Championship Final, with a combined prize purse of R900 000.
The first Grand Slam event kicked off at the Thaba Nchu Skateboarding Park, attracting local skaters who will compete with other skaters from across the country and internationally in the finals in December.
The Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism says this event creates opportunities for emerging athletes, promotes tourism and is the lifeblood of skateboarding and adrenaline.
