6-year-old takes care of mentally ill mother

A six-year-old girl in Mandela Park, Mthatha, has been found taking care of her grandmother, mentally ill mother, and her two-year-old sibling.

Eastern Cape Social Development MEC, Bukiwe Fanta, has expressed deep concern following the discovery, saying it highlights the urgent need for intervention and support for vulnerable families in communities.
