Civil lobby movement March and March says it's supporting Zimbabweans fighting to protect democracy in their own country.
Leader of the movement, Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, addressed protestors in Umthwalume, on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, where she expressed support for the proposed July shutdown by Zimbabweans.
This follows reports that Zimbabwe's president Emmerson Mnangagwa has signed constitutional amendments into law to prolong his stay in office and delay the general elections until 2030.
This has sparked concern that more Zimbabweans could flee to South Africa, which is already carrying the burden of a huge Zimbabwean population fleeing the country because of economic hardship and human rights abuses.
