Student housing bodies call for NSFAS intervention in ongoing accommodation crisis

Student residents from Thrive Student Living properties tookl to the streets, staging protests outside the University of Johannesburg as well as the SABC offices.

The students are voicing frustration over being required to pay additional monthly top-up fees, despite being placed in accommodation that is accredited and funded through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, raising broader concerns about affordability, transparency, and the implementation of NSFAS housing policies .
