Business people spoke in positive tones around the need for deepening of commercial ties between South Africa and Kenya.
This, as the official state visit of Kenyan President, William Ruto, to South Africa earlier in the month served as an opportunity for business representatives from both countries to explore new and advanced relations.
As at the end of 2025, South African exports to Kenya stood at 11.1 billion rand, while Kenyan exports to South Africa were around 464 million rand, with the trade picture skewed very much in South Africa's favour.
But Kenya's economy, while smaller, is rapidly growing in agriculture, manufacturing and is proving to be a standout hub in the area of fintech.
