The Southern African Alcohol Policy Alliance believes that if the tax bracket on alcohol is narrowed, it could lead to beer producers decreasing the alcohol percentage in alcoholic beverages to fit the tax bracket.

This major policy overhaul aims to reshape the excise tax regime to reduce harmful alcohol consumption, curb binge drinking, and address public health crises.
