From qualifier to finalist: #Chwalińska’s historic #Paris run

Miracle on the clay. From the qualifying rounds to the Roland Garros final, Poland’s Maja Chwalińska has produced one of the most extraordinary Grand Slam runs in recent memory.

Ranked No. 113 in the world when the tournament began, the 24-year-old is now guaranteed a place in the WTA Top 30 after becoming just the second qualifier ever to reach a Grand Slam final.

After toppling a string of higher-ranked opponents, Chwalińska will face Russia’s Mirra Andreeva on June 6 with a French Open title and a place in Polish tennis history on the line.
