Impeachment Committee proceeds despite court review

The sub judice rule is unlikely to take precedence at the Impeachment Committee probing President Cyril Ramaphosa over the Phala Phala matter.

It has been confirmed that the President's legal review of the Section 89 independent panel report, will be heard in early September in the High Court in Cape Town.

The panel found that Ramaphosa had a prima facie case to answer over the storage of large amounts of foreign currency at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo.
