"Honoring #UPA 'heroes' causes deep pain, concern, and opposition in #Poland," says Defense Minister

The Polish Defense Minister Wladysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has delivered an official statement with an appeal to the Ukrainian government to reconsider the name bestowed upon one of its military units.

This comes after a recent decision by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to name a military unit after the "Heroes of the UPA," a unit responsible for the massacre of over 100,000 Poles, which has put considerable strain on Polish-Ukrainian relations.
