Second Mau Conservation Marathon set for July 3, 2026

The government has stepped up efforts to restore the Mau Forest Complex through sports based conservation by launching the second edition of the Mau Forest Conservation Marathon to mobilize resources, raise awareness, and speed up ecosystem restoration. Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, Eng. Festus Ng’eno, said the initiative has recorded notable progress since its launch in October 2025. He urged public participation, noting that this year they are targeting 2,500 participants, with about 500 already registered ahead of the June 25, 2026, deadline.
