The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways continues to coordinate closely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Missions abroad, and maritime stakeholders to ensure the welfare of seafarers and the uninterrupted functioning of maritime operations. All Indian seafarers in the region are safe, and no incidents involving Indian seafarers on either Indian-flagged or foreign-flagged vessels have been reported during the past 72 hours. The Directorate General of Shipping's control room has handled more than 11,600 calls and over 25,800 emails since its activation. During the last 72 hours alone, it received 444 calls and 1,334 emails from seafarers, their families, and other maritime stakeholders. Through the Directorate General of Shipping, the Ministry has facilitated the safe repatriation of more than 3,474 Indian seafarers so far, including 28 seafarers repatriated in the last 72 hours from various locations across the Gulf region.
