Kenya President Ruto begins South African state visit

On Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to host Kenyan President William Ruto for a State Visit aimed at strengthening political and economic ties between the continent's two leading economies.

Expectations are high in both countries that the talks will address trade barriers, boost investment, and deepen cooperation on key regional and continental issues.

South Africa and Kenya have enjoyed strong diplomatic relations since 1994, with Pretoria viewing Nairobi as a strategic partner in East Africa.
