Immigration Tensions | Over 50 structures destroyed in Mossel Bay unrest

Acting National Police Commissioner, Puleng Dimpane, and her deputy, who is also Chairperson of NATJOINTS, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, have briefed the media in George, following the unrest in Mossel Bay in the Western Cape.

More than 50 informal structures were destroyed, and hundreds of people displaced after violence erupted following a march against undocumented immigrants.

Two Mozambican nationals were killed on Friday night.

Police have clarified that the death of 19-year-old, Nhlamulo Sambo on Sunday, was not related to the unrest.
