Disaster Management teams in the Garden Route have begun evacuating residents as a Level 8 storm hits parts of the district.

Authorities are warning that saturated grounds, full dams, and swollen rivers could trigger flooding similar to last month's events across the area.

The province has remained on high-alert as the heavy rain persists across the region.
