Nine suspects in Utumishi school fire to be held for 21 more days

Nine students suspected of causing a fire that left 16 girls dead in Utumishi Girls Senior School in Gilgil will be the guests of the state for the next 21 days pending conclusion of investigations. Naivasha Chief Magistrate Abdulqadir Ramathan ordered the nine minors aged between 15 and 17 years to be remanded at Nakuru Children’s Remand Home until the 24th of June. And as Ruth Wamboi reports, security was beefed up at the Naivasha Law Court as parents of the victims and suspects camped at the courtroom.
