Phala Phala | President Cyril Ramaphosa comments on Parliament's impeachment process

President Cyril Ramaphosa says his response to the impeachment process against him will be guided by the Constitution, and the rule of law.

He responded to political parties' criticism of his decision to legally review the Section 89 independent panel report, which found a prima facie case against him in the Phala Phala matter.

Parliament has since established an impeachment committee to determine whether the President should be removed from office.

This follows a Constitutional Court ruling that it acted unlawfully in rejecting the report in 2022.
