WHO reports 321 confirmed Ebola cases in DRC

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on June 2 that the Democratic Republic of the Congo had recorded 321 confirmed Ebola cases and 116 suspected cases since an outbreak was declared on May 15. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo strain of the virus, has killed 48 people, according to Reuters and public health updates citing Congolese and WHO figures. The WHO said it will continue supporting local surveillance, contact tracing and clinical preparedness to help contain the outbreak.
