The Country has made significant gains in the fight against avoidable blindness, with prevalence rates falling by nearly 50 per cent over the years through joint efforts between government, counties and development partners. Speaking during celebrations marking 20 years of the Kenya-Australia partnership in eye health, Head of the Eye Health Section at the Ministry of Health Dr. Monicah Bitok and West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin hailed the partnership for helping eliminate trachoma as a major public health threat in the county.
