#WATCH | Another major decision was taken today, and I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations. The central government has approved a Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) hike for its employees and pensioners, with a total financial implication of ₹6,791 crore. Essentially, DA and DR will increase to 60% of basic pay, effective from 1 January 2026. This will benefit around 50 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners of the Government of India. The financial impact will be approximately ₹6791 crore per year.

The third major decision relates to PMGSY-III. We all know that during the tenure of respected Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana brought a revolutionary change in rural connectivity. During the UPA era, the scheme slowed down, but after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, PMGSY regained strong momentum.

Now, its extension and allocation have been increased, making PMGSY-III a ₹83,977 crore scheme. So far, around 8 lakh kilometres of roads have been constructed under this programme, along with more than 10,000 bridges in rural areas. Over 7 lakh rural infrastructure points such as markets, schools, and community centres have also been connected: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
