Impeachment Committee elects Gana as its chair

Rise Mzansi MP Makashule Gana has been elected as the chairperson of the newly formed 31-member Impeachment Committee.

This follows a Constitutional Court ruling that supported Section 89 Independent panel report for the Impeachment Committee to be formed in order to allow President Cyril Ramaphosa to answer to some of the prima facie evidence regarding the theft of foreign currency at his Phala Phala farm.

Gana defeated the leader of the United Africans Transformation, Dr Wonderboy Mahlatsi, by 19 votes against 12.
